This is one place where many people will put in their interpretation of these words, and it can sometimes be frustrating when they don’t use the words properly.
-
Purchase
- A PURCHASE is a single item or items needed to fulfill a coupon’s requirement(s).
- You will see LIMIT ONE COUPON PER PURCHASE on many coupons…so what does that mean?
- Example:
- $1.00 off 1 Bounty Paper Towel coupon
- Your PURCHASE is 1 Bounty paper towel.
- $1.00 off 2 Tide products coupon
- Your PURCHASE is 2 Tide products.
- $1.00 off 1 Bounty Paper Towel coupon
-
Transaction
- A TRANSACTION is a group of PURCHASES (see above).
- You will sometimes see LIMIT 4 LIKE COUPONS PER TRANSACTION (or other quantity) on your coupons…so what does that mean?
- Example:
- You have 6 of the $1.00 off 1 Bounty paper towel coupons.
- You can use 4 of the coupons with 4 of the paper towels in 1 transaction.
- If you wanted to buy all 6, then you would have to do multiple transactions, if the coupon or store allows.
